Grading Policy
P.S. 119 - Grading Policy - 2025 - 2026
As a school, our school will be utilizing the DOE Grades app as our grading platform to input grades. These grades will then be transferred into STARS Classroom when the Marking Period Ends.
Report Card Input Breakdown for the 2025 - 2026 Academic School Year:
Kindergarten - 5th Grade Overall ELA Grade, Listening and Speaking, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and History, Physical Education, Music, Technology, Health, Academic and Personal Behaviors, Visual Arts, Dance, Theatre
Gradebook: Grades will be entered into Gradebook for Grades 2 - 5 throughout the Marking Periods. For Grades K and 1, teachers will send bi-weekly progress reports home to families to ensure that they are updated on the progress of their children throughout the school year.
Grades PreK - 2: Please be reminded that for the core subject areas of ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies in grades K - 2, students will be earning a score of 1 - 4 (1=Well Below Standards, 2=Below Standards, 3=Proficient, 4=Excels in Standards)
PreK - 2 Wolf Awards Ceremony: After each Marking Period ends, there will be a PreK - 2 Wolf Awards Ceremony where select students will be celebrated and acknowledged for level 3 and 4 in Core Subject Areas, Most Improved Awards, and PBIS Awards.
Grades 3 - 5: Please be reminded that for the core subject areas of ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies in grades 3 -5, students will be earning numerical grades. A grade of 55 is the lowest grade to input. Please keep in mind that the “Failing the Marking Period Grade Range” is from the Range of 55 - 64.
3 - 5 Honor Roll Ceremony: After each Marking Period ends, there will be an Honor Roll Ceremony for Grades 3 - 5 to celebrate select students and acknowledge students who made 2nd Honor Roll, 1st Honor Roll, Principals Honor Roll, and specific subject honor rolls.
